Retreats in 2020 and 2021
A retreat is required to give teachers an opportunity to deepen their practice and to experience the kinds of processes that might arise for their participants doing more intensive practice, such as day retreats, and in response to our current situation and government guidelines the British Association for Mindfulness-based Approaches (BAMBA), issued the following:
"Online retreats are an acceptable alternative to face to face retreats and will remain so until at least the end of 2021 when this advice will be reviewed. Five days per year with periods of silence lasting for at least 50% of the waking time should be spent in retreat."
Following these Good Practice Guidelines and embracing accessibility we have created One-day and Two-day Online retreats as well as our Residential Five -day at Sharpham House, giving you options to complete the required total of 5 days, in a way that works best for you:
Online Retreats for Mindfulness Teachers and Trainees

Timing: 9.30am to 4.30pm
Cost: £412.50 for all 5 days (£82.50 per day).
Two Day Retreat with Karen Atkinson and Angie Ward
Fri 6th Nov 4pm to Sun 8th Nov, 6pm.
Cost : £150

Mindful Movement & Compassionate Stillness 5 Day Retreat at Sharpham House, Totnes
September 28th -2nd October 2021
Join us for our 5-day silent, teacher led Retreat and experience tranquillity and joy through the enriching practices of Mindfulness and Compassion. The retreat balances gentle movement with stillness practices, held with kindness, to create harmony of the body, heart and mind. This Retreat is open to everyone and also adheres to the Good Practice Guidelines for Mindfulness Teachers. Sharpham House is a beautiful majestic building, warm and comfortable, surrounded by 550 acres of stunning nature, the Rive Dart, woodlands and greenery, a stunning venue and landscape to come and retreat in.
Cost: £695 shared accommodation, £795 single room - Includes all teaching, accommodation and food

Who is this retreat for?
This retreat is suitable for anyone wishing to explore these practices in stunning surroundings whether you’re fairly new to mindfulness, a teacher or teacher trainer, you will be most welcome. (Adheres to Good Practice Guidelines for UK Mindfulness Teachers.)
After receiving a warm welcome at Sharpham House, we will share meditations, delicious food and walks in a warm silence. Teachers guide practices and there will be invitations to meet with the teachers for one to ones and in small groups where there is the opportunity to speak and share experiences. You will be able to communicate with the teachers at any time you need to during the retreat. The teachers will lead you in your coming out of silence is a skilful and clear way on the final day.
There will be a programme each day of retreat displayed and each day will include 2 periods of gentle movement, silent and guided meditations, meetings with teachers and free time to explore and nurture yourself in the beautiful surroundings of Sharpham House.
